Lastly, in so far as the applicant complains about the confiscation of the proceeds of crime, the Court notes that the application of such a measure was envisaged under all the Criminal Codes applied in his case (see paragraphs 23-25, 27 and 29 above), and thus this does not raise any issue of retroactivity (see, by contrast, Welch v. the United Kingdom, 9 February 1995, § 26, Series A no. 307-A).
