Furthermore, Article 6 § 1 does not guarantee a right of appeal, but where the domestic law so provides, the appeal proceedings are to be treated as an extension of the trial process and, accordingly, must also comply with Article 6 (Delcourt v. Belgium, judgment of 17 January 1970, Series A no. 11, § 25).
