Auszug aus EGMR, 15.11.2016 - 9536/10
However, the Court has repeatedly held that, although the severity of the sentence faced is a relevant element in assessing the risk of an accused absconding or reoffending, the need to continue the deprivation of liberty cannot be assessed from a purely abstract point of view, taking into consideration only the gravity of the offence (see Panchenko v. Russia, no. 45100/98, § 102, 8 February 2005; Khudoyorov v. Russia, no. 6847/02, § 180, ECHR 2005-X (extracts); and Chumakov v. Russia, no. 41794/04, § 159, 24 April 2012). - EGMR, 08.11.2005 - 6847/02
