Information such as a person's criminal record, when systematically collected and stored in a file held by agents of the State, falls within the scope of "private life" for the purposes of Article 8 § 1 of the Convention (see Shimovolos v. Russia, no. 30194/09, §§ 64-66, 21 June 2011, and M.M. v. the United Kingdom, no. 24029/07, § 188, 13 November 2012).
