  Has the State complied with its positive obligation under Article 2 of the Convention to safeguard the life of the aforementioned persons? If so, have the persons who were involved in the operation been identified and questioned in the context of the investigation into the events of 4 June 2005? Having regard to the procedural protection of the right to life under Article 2 of the Convention (see Salman v. Turkey [GC], no. 21986/93, § 104, ECHR 2000-VII), was the investigation conducted by the domestic authorities into the disappearance of the aforementioned persons sufficient to meet their obligation to carry out an effective investigation, as required by Article 2 of the Convention?.

The Court has found on numerous occasions that a situation of enforced disappearance gives rise to a violation of Article 3 of the Convention in respect of the close relatives of the victim on account of the distress and anguish that they suffered, and continue to suffer, as a result of their inability to ascertain the fate of their missing family members and of the manner in which their complaints have been dealt with (see Adzhigitova and Others v. Russia, no. 2593/08, § 227, 22 June 2021; Aslakhanova and Others, cited above, §§ 131-33, 18 December 2012; and A.A. and Others v. Russia, cited above, § 69).
