Gefängnisse in Bulgarien: Unwürdige Zustände
Unlike the situation in other High Contracting States (for a survey of the situation in a number of these States, see Uzun v. Turkey (dec.), no. 10755/13, §§ 43-51, 30 April 2013; see also, for instance, Latak, cited above, §§ 35-37, 39, 47-54 and 80, regarding the protection of "personal rights" under Polish civil law; and Donnan v. the United Kingdom (dec.), no. 3811/04, 8 November 2005, regarding the Human Rights Act 1998 in the United Kingdom), in Bulgaria, even though the Convention is in principle regarded as directly applicable and part of domestic law (see paragraphs 95-97 above), there is no general remedy allowing protection at domestic level of the rights and freedoms enshrined in it.
