Having regard to the circumstances of the case and the evidence before it, the Court finds that the applicant's injuries were attributable to the violence suffered by him at the hands of the police, which amounted to inhuman and degrading treatment for which the State is responsible (see Gäfgen v. Germany [GC], no. 22978/05, § 90, ECHR 2010, and Leonid Petrov v. Russia, no. 52783/08, §§ 65-76, 11 October 2016).
