Auszug aus EGMR, 02.04.2015 - 27945/10
In the Convention case-law relating to expulsion and extradition measures, the main emphasis has consistently been placed on the "family life" aspect, which has been interpreted as encompassing the effective "family life" established in the territory of a Contracting State by aliens lawfully resident there, it being understood that "family life" in this sense is normally limited to the core family (Slivenko v. Latvia, [GC], no. 48321/99, § 94, ECHR 2003-X; see also, mutatis mutandis, Marckx v. Belgium, 13 June 1979, Series A no. 31, p. 21, § 45). - EGMR, 28.05.1985 - 9214/80
Auszug aus EGMR, 02.04.2015 - 27945/10
A State is entitled, as a matter of international law and subject to its treaty obligations, to control the entry of aliens into its territory and their residence there (see, among many other authorities, Abdulaziz, Cabales and Balkandali v. the United Kingdom, 28 May 1985, § 67, Series A no. 94, and Boujlifa v. France, 21 October 1997, § 42, Reports of Judgments and Decisions 1997-VI). - EGMR, 06.02.2001 - 44599/98
Auszug aus EGMR, 02.04.2015 - 27945/10
The Court considers that the complaint concerning the effects of the expulsion on the applicants" mental health also falls under Article 8 (see Bensaid v. the United Kingdom, no. 44599/98, §§ 46-47, ECHR 2001-I, with further references), and will consequently examine it under that head.

Auszug aus EGMR, 02.04.2015 - 27945/10
Insofar as the first applicant referred to her parents and adult daughter as family members in Austria, the Government pointed out that according to the Court's jurisprudence (A.W. Khan v. the United Kingdom, no. 47486/06, 12 January 2010), relationships between adult children and their parents normally did not fall within the notion of family life of Article 8 of the Convention, unless there were special elements of mutual dependence. - EGMR, 19.01.2012 - 39472/07

Referring to the case Antwi and Others v. Norway (no. 26940/10, 14 February 2012), the Government submitted that it would be possible for the first applicant to take up residence in Slovakia, as he spoke the Slovak language a little and had been of an adaptable age of seven years at the time of the issue of the Independent Administrative Panel's decision of 6 April 2009. - EGMR, 31.05.2001 - 67679/01
KATANI ET AUTRES contre l'ALLEMAGNE
Auszug aus EGMR, 02.04.2015 - 27945/10
The Court reiterates that decisions regarding the entry, stay and deportation of aliens do not concern the determination of an applicant's civil rights or obligations or of a criminal charge against him within the meaning of Article 6 § 1 of the Convention (see, Maaouia v. France [GC], no. 39652/98, § 40, ECHR 2000-X, and Katani and Others v. Germany (dec.), no. 67679/01, 31 May 2001).

Mahran/Österreich, Nr. 27945/10 - NVwZ 2016, 1235, Rn. 64 ff.;… ferner BayVGH, B.v. 22.8.2016 - 10 ZB 16.1499 - juris Rn. 8;… BayVGH, B.v. 16.7.2015 - 10 ZB 15.463 - juris Rn. 11;… BayVGH, U.v. 15.8.2014 - 10 B 13.715 - juris Rn. 49). - EGMR, 25.04.2017 - 41697/12
KRASNIQI v. AUSTRIA
Lastly, the Court agrees with the Government that the applicant himself has caused a certain disruption of his family life by being repeatedly convicted and sentenced to terms of imprisonment (see, mutatis mutandis, Sarközi and Mahran v. Austria, no. 27945/10, § 73, 2 April 2015). - EGMR, 01.06.2017 - 30441/09
KÜLEKCI v. AUSTRIA
It therefore only affected the applicant for three and a half years after his actual expulsion (see Sarközi and Mahran v. Austria, no. 27945/10, § 69, 2 April 2015), after which he had the possibility to apply for leave to return to Austria.

MIRZOYAN v. THE CZECH REPUBLIC and 1 other application
Accordingly, national decision-making bodies should, in principle, advert to and assess evidence in respect of the practicality, feasibility and proportionality of any removal of a non-national parent in order to give effective protection and sufficient weight to the best interests of the children directly affected by it (ibid., § 109; Sarközi and Mahran v. Austria, no. 27945/10, § 64, 2 April 2015; and Gaspar v. Russia, no. 23038/15, § 39, 12 June 2018). - EGMR, 11.04.2023 - 57766/19
LOUKILI v. THE NETHERLANDS
Thus, the Court did not find a violation of Article 8 in several cases involving settled migrants who had been convicted of serious crimes and who had been resident in the host country for more than twenty years, be it after having entered the country as an adult (see Akbulut, cited above; Sarközi and Mahran v. Austria, no. 27945/10, 2 April 2015; and Hamesevic v. Denmark (dec.), no. 25748/15, 16 May 2017) or as a young child (see Ndidi, and Levakovic, both cited above) or after having been born there (see Azerkane, cited above, and Johansen v. Denmark (dec.), no. 27801/19, 1 February 2022).
